La visita ortopedica è una valutazione professionale eseguita dal medico ortopedico, durante la quale si valuta lo stato di salute dell’intero apparato locomotore, quindi ossa, articolazioni, e muscoli.
Lo scopo è quello di diagnosticare patologie acute, croniche o degenerative a carico della colonna vertebrale, degli arti superiori o degli arti inferiori.
Il medico ortopedico è indispensabile anche per correggere errori di tipo posturale, nonché per sanare fratture delle ossa, strappi muscolari e rotture dei legamenti.
La visita ortopedica serve quando si riscontrano sintomi diversi, come: dolore all’anca, al ginocchio, alla caviglia, al piede, alle dita, rigidità della colonna, mal di schiena, cervicalgia. Questi potrebbero essere indicatori di patologie a carico dell’apparato locomotore (artrosi, artrite, osteoporosi, lesioni ai legamenti, ernia del disco, tendinopatie, sindrome del tunnel carpale, ecc.).
Come si svolge la visita ortopedica
La visita ortopedica prevede in primo luogo l’anamnesi del paziente, utile a raccogliere il maggior numero di informazioni per ottenere una diagnosi corretta. Sono esaminate, per esempio, eventuali malattie in famiglia, traumi pregressi e operazioni chirurgiche effettuate.
Successivamente si passa alla visita vera e propria in base ai sintomi lamentati dal paziente. L’ortopedico valuta postura, forza muscolare, presenza di infiammazioni e gonfiori, presenza di riflessi.
Lo specialista può richiedere ulteriori accertamenti, come esami del sangue e urine, Tac, risonanze magnetiche, ecografie, o giungere già ad una diagnosi. Le terapie possono essere, quindi, diverse: assunzioni di farmaci, fisioterapia, intervento chirurgico.
